Thoroughlybred.com was launched in early 2005, so that owners of thoroughbred racing and breeding stock would have a place to offer their "inventory" for sale on a daily basis. Our process is similar to that of E Bay and our website helps both sellers and buyers avoid the high cost of traditional auctions.

Our mission is to offer Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders a much needed alternative and valuable service at a fraction of the cost of traditional sales options. Sellers will have the ability to liquidate their inventory to the highest bidder, while buyers can pay fair prices without leaving home!

You can list mares, stallions, stallion seasons and shares, weanlings, yearlings and horses of racing age. The commission free listing price is just $49! Similar to the process used on E bay, you will host your own auction and provide all pictures and information for your listing. We allow you to post 6 pics and video feeds. When choosing this option your listings will automatically re-new at no extra cost or fee, until the horse is sold or the auction is ended manually by the seller! You choose the auction period which you may set anywhere from 7 to 15 days. The bidding is live! If you do not receive a bid that meets your Reserve Price,the auction automatically extends for the same auction period you originally chose.There is no additional charge for automatic renewels. You only pay us once no matter how long the listing is posted! We also offer a "commission when sold" listing option! When choosing this option, listings will be just $5.95 with a 2% commission due only if the listing sells during the listing time that the seller chooses. Once the time selected expires, if the horse wasn't sold, you will owe us nothing, as there is no minimum commission required! Listings in this option do not automatically renew unless they were listed prior to April 1st 2008!

We offer a free automatic alert service to our customers. As an example, if you were to place an ad auctioning off your mare,foal, stallion,racehorse etc, we automatically alert the buyers in our database looking for such a horse or particular bloodline. On the flip side,a buyer could tell us what particular stallion season, broodmare sire,or even an in-foal sire they would be interested to purchase and our site will alert them as soon as a horse is put up for auction that fits the criteria. E mail notifications are sent when the auction begins.

NEW!! We are now offering auctions for Collectibles and Equipment. These are similar to traditional online auctions, for which we charge a two percent commission only if the item is sold on our site. On these auctions we do not charge you to list. NO LISTING FEE!
