Thoroughlybred.com was launched in 2004, in an effort to give owners of thoroughbred horses, as well as stallion owners, a place to offer horses and seasons/shares for sale via an online interactive E Bay like website dedicated to horse owners and racing fans! Our process is similar to that of E Bay thus allowing sellers to sell to the highest bidder while avoiding the high costs usually associated with traditional auctions.

You can list your mares, yearlings, weanlings horses of racing age as well as stallions with their seasons and shares for sale on our website!

When you list a horse for sale with us, you get two types of listings in one ad! Use the "Buy Now" feature and turn the listing into standard classified type ad like you see on any other online website or print ad. However when you use our "Minimum Bid" and "Reserve" feature, you also set the listing up for a live E Bay like online auction which make listings on our website unique, thus they will generate more interest than other online ads and print ads as the as becomes interactive!

We reach over 12,000 potential buyers with our extensive mailing lists of thoroughbred buyers that receive our listing alerts! Our website had more than 4 million hits and over 40,000 unique visitors in 2008 so ads here are seen often and by many! We have 4 listing options to fit any sellers need as well as their budget! We allow you to post 6 pics and video feeds.

You may opt for a commission free listing for $49.00 and be entitled to free re-listings until the horse is sold! Or you can choose to pay just $5.95 plus 2% of the sales price to list for up to 30 days. If the horse doesn't sell, no commission is due and we never have any minimum commission requirements!

For sellers of multiple of horses we offer two great options! Become a "Select Seller" and pay a $49.00 for 30 days of unlimited listings, free upgrades and your own seller homepage! Select Sellers pay just 2% of the sales price only if the listing sells on our site! Get 3 months of Select Seller status for just $99.00!

You can also request to sign up for our newest option, the "Preferred Seller"! Preferred Sellers pay just $9.95 a month for unlimited listings,get all the free upgrades and a seller homepage! Preferred Sellers agree to pay 5% of the sales price of the horse only if it sells on our website. Sign up for 6 months of Preferred Seller status for the flat fee of just $49.95!

To become a Select Seller or a Preferred Seller, you must first e mail us with your User ID and request your account to be approved to be upgraded!

No trucking fees to the sales pavilion. No minimum commissions or unnecessary and expensive sales prepping. No high expenses with low results. We are not going to tell you how much to ask for your horse or how much the reserve should be. It is always up to you.

We offer a free automatic alert service to our customers. As an example, if you were to place an ad auctioning off your mare,foal, stallion,racehorse etc, we automatically alert the buyers in our database looking for such a horse or particular bloodline. On the flip side,a buyer could tell us what particular stallion season, broodmare sire,or even an in-foal sire they would be interested to purchase and our site will alert them as soon as a horse is put up for auction that fits the criteria. E mail notifications are sent when the auction begins.

We are now offering auctions for racing collectibles, memorabilia, art and general equine equipment. These are similar to E Bay like online auctions, for which we charge a two percent commission only if the item is sold on our site. NO LISTING FEES IN THESE CATEGORIES FOR THE REST OF 2009!
