You must register to sell or bid in the auction. Once you have completed the registration process, login to the Members Area using your UserID and Password to create your auctions with in one of the selling categories. Please include pictures, pedigrees,and other pertinent information to help promote your listings. It is up to the lister to use proper and factual information when listing your items for sale.

This page outlines the process of listing items for sale, and managing your listings during and after the sale. Our site features software that has many extra features that will allow you to easily manage and promote your listings.
The following fees apply when listing and selling an item on Thoroughlybred.com.
Commissions are not charged for Listings on any horses when the $49.95 commission free option is chosen. For commission free listings we charge a fee of $49.95. This policy refers to Mares, Stallions, Stallion Seasons/Shares and Weanling/Yearling/Horses of Racing Age. All commission free auctions will get free re-listings if the reserve price is not met at the end of the auction period. You will not be charged any additional fees, as the $49.00 fee is inclusive of renewels. If you opt to list for $5.95 and then pay 2% commission if horse is sold on our site, you will not be entitled to free re-listings. You can list for up to 30 days in this category.
The following fees apply only when listing and selling collectibles, equipment, horses other than thoroughbred breeding or racing stock or any thing you want to auction on our site that is not subject to a listing fee.
There are no listing fees charged for placing collectibles, equipment, and non thoroughbred horses.
However,a commission fee will be charged based on the final sales price reached in the auction. Listing an object will allow you to review and accept the fees which you will be charged.
Commissions are charged only if the auction sells for your listed price, and any reserves are met.
For the amount of the Selling Price of the auction item under $25.00, the
commission is 5% on the first $25.00.
On any amount of the Selling Price of the auction item over $25.00 the
commission is 2%.
Optional Fees:
The following fees for services only apply if you choose to use them.
There is a fee of $2.00 if you choose have a Private Auction.
There is a fee of $2.00 if you choose to use a Reserve Price.
There is a fee of $2.00 to Feature your item on the main page and category pages of the site.
There is a fee of $1.00 to Feature your item on the top of the category selected.
There is a fee of $1.00 to display your auction with a Bold title in the auction lists.
In your My Account screen you may view any fees that are due for your activity on the auction site. You will be invoiced monthly on or about the 1st of the month. Payment instructions will be included with your invoice. All seller fees will be invoiced on a monthly schedule.
Items are listed in your members area, and may be listed in one of 2 methods. You may list items individually with the List Item link, or you may also upload multiple auctions at once in the Seller Tools section. For uploading auctions, see the separate instructions.<
Each auction item contains for following information:
Choose one category from the drop down list in the List Item form, or provide the category number in your upload file. If you would like an additional item, you may request it from the admin.
Accurately describe your item with a title that can be up to 120 characters long. Good titles will attract attention and help to SELL your item!
Either 1 or more items may be sold at the same time. Multiple quantity (Dutch auctions) must be for the exact same item.
Your description is most important to describing your item and answering potential questions for the buyer. HTML is acceptable.
You may upload as many images as you need with the List Item form, or link to an image on another website by providing the complete URL to the image. When linking make sure to use a complete URL beginning with http://. If you aren't sure of your image URL, copy what you have typed into a new browser window and see if your image appears. If it doesn't, check your path and file name, as they are case sensitive in most cases.
The Starting Bid will start the bidding on an auction, and the item will be considered sold if a bid is received for this amount, and no reserve bid is set.
Not available with Dutch Auctions. This amount must be at or higher than the Starting Bid, and if a bid reaches this amount it will end the auction immediately and the item will be considered sold.
Boxes are provided for you to enter your Shipping and Payment Terms. HTML is accepted here. You may also set defaults for this form in the Settings and Messages sections of the Seller Tools menu.
You may select a day and time your auction will end from the drop down box on the List Item form.
You may increase the exposure of your auction item by Featuring the auction, or adding bold text for display. Additional fees will apply.<
As soon as you complete Step 1 of the listing process, your listing can be found in the Pending area of the My Listings Menu. Pending Listings are available for 14 days.
Once you have completed the listing form you may start your listing immediately, or start the auction later from the Pending Auctions link in the My Listings Menu.
As mentioned above you may set your default Shipping and Payment terms in the Settings and Messages section of the Seller Tools menu.

When your auction has ended notices are sent out to winning bidders immediately. When all of your auctions have ended, or your buyer has completed their buying, you can send a combined invoice through the Checkout system. To do this, follow the link provided in the Sold Item email, or use the Sales Tracker in your members area.
Any listings that are sold and not invoiced can be found in the Sales Tracker. In this area you can see which sales need to be invoiced. Once an invoice has been sent, you can access invoices for sending notices and leaving feedback in the Invoices for Sales section.
An auction may be relisted once it is over and notices have been sent. From
the My Listings menu choose one of the Closed Auctions links. You may view your sold
and unsold auctions here, and relist in groups or individually.
